IMI LEVEL 2 APPRENTICESHIP
LIGHT VEHICLE MAINTENANCE & REPAIR
Overview of programme area
Without vehicle maintenance and repair technicians the economy would grind to a halt. Many people are dependent upon their vehicles to get to work and businesses need reliable and well-maintained vehicles to transport goods to and from customers. Apprenticeships are the life blood of the automotive retail industry and more technicians are needed to replace those who leave or retire.
What is an Apprenticeship?
An Apprenticeship is a mix of real work and learning. Apprentices earn a wage and get experience whilst working towards a number of qualifications. An Intermediate Apprenticeship follows a Level 2 programme and can lead to an Advanced Apprenticeship which is a Level 3 programme. An Apprenticeship is a highly valued and widely recognised qualification throughout the automotive industry.
This Apprenticeship is for 16 – 18 year olds in relevant employment in the motor industry. Subsidised Apprenticeships are also available for those aged 19 – 24.
