After attending two university interviews at the start of the week,
That is how I then spent the weekend of 24th-26th February. I arrived on the Friday just in time to catch Anthony Joshua finishing his training in the GB boxing gym. Yet after such an unbelievable moment, the training began. 3 Days of intense training and assessment all towards the aim of being selected for the European championships in May. I know I put 100% into the training over the weekend and hopefully I can move onto the next stage. However, whatever the decision I know I am going to represent England in April which is - on its own - a whole new level to my boxing career.
We have been sponsoring Beth now for a couple of years along with other local business's Curio Junction & Kaya Gallery. We are very proud to say we now have a champion
We asked beth a bit about herself.
My name is Bethany Warne, a local girl from Ham ward, and I am a boxer who trains at Devonport Amateur Boxing Club. I dedicate a lot of my time to training at and the boxing gym, maintaining my fitness through running outside of training times. As well as this, I help to teach and develop the younger kids who train at our gym, so as you can tell I am very passionate about the sport. In the last boxing season, I managed to make my way to the semi final of the Junior ABAs (along the way becoming the Western Counties Champion,) but in the current season I have come on and stepped up which led to me becoming the NABGC female national champion at 57kg (in class B.) To get to where I am has taken (and will continue to take) a lot of time and effort but I have had the support of Norpro training to help me along the way; which I have been entirely grateful for during the last 2 and a half years. Not only do they support me by attending my fights and always believing in me, but they help provide all my essential kit I need to train and succeed.
A brand new local football team called Plymouth Armada FC. We are a new men's Sunday
league team playing in the Plymouth & Devon Division 3 in the new season, Plymouth Armada FC has come a long way in such a short time and with your generous help we could go further together. We
have a lot of new and returning players to the league who were not given the opportunities to utilise their talent or enjoy their game at other clubs.
As a club we pride ourselves on respect, inclusion and opportunity and would always like to have like-minded sponsors and committee members involved.
As a club we aim for high goals but also want to encourage local people to be involved as those people make clubs great. Promoting the health and well-being of local players and recognising the value of a locally ran club.
In Return we would also like promote you're business at charity events and we would also like and share your Facebook page. We are also doing match reports after every game which will have pictures on our club page which will be shared many times on Facebook in the kit. We have also set up a YouTube channel where people can watch parts of the game, where your name & logo would be on the screen plus also on the kits. We also plan to have a photo shoot with every player in their kit which will be on the channel. You can check out a Sunday league team in the north of England which have done it and the sponsor has done very well. You can either Facebook it or YouTube it "palmersfc", to understand what I mean. The Club has been built on respect to each other and getting the most from our local area.
